my sweet lovable pittsburgh steelers

*
are going to the Super Bowl again. Even though I'm only one of a gazillion fans, when you're raised in Pittsburgh the relationship you develop with the Steelers and all their many accomplishments can feel very personal. 'So I think how nice of them to do this.

Climate change, an awful economy, eight-years-of-Bush/Cheney-fatigue-syndrome, and other global maladies. But tomorrow the Steelers are in the Super Bowl and that just makes me very happy.

Rachel, how very cool we share the same hometown! and yes, you're so right -- there are so many poets from pittsburgh; from the rust belt geberally but esp. pittsburgh it seems. steel has been replaced by medicine as its number one export, but i think the city's other two big exports have Always been football players and poets! :) gerald stern, susan wheeler, jack gilbert, jack spicer, dan marino, joe namath, bill cowher, joe montana, etc... what an odd list. but it's an odd city. thanks for the comment, Rachel!
